It’s May already huh? Where did April go?! I guess it’s true when they say time flies when you’re having fun! :)
NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30
I finally caved and tried this product after hearing so many people rave across the beauty community! I started off with the little sample packets I received with my online orders and I was so impressed that I decided to purchase the full size earlier this week. This is one great product to simplify your morning makeup routine as it is a moisturizer with sunscreen that provides foundation-like coverage! My shade is between Alaska and St. Moritz, but I like my base product to be just half a shade lighter than my actual skin tone so I went with Alaska. :)
Bobbi Brown Art Stick
I can’t get enough of jumbo lip pencils! My newest obsession is by Bobbi Brown in shade Dusty Pink and Electric Pink (review here). This is going to sound weird but I really love how these feel in my hand! They are so chubby!!! :D The creamy matte formula feels nice on the lips and I appreciate that I can sharpen the tip to be really pointy so I can line my lips with precision. Dusty Pink is such a great everyday pink color that is easy to wear and is the color I like a little more between the two.
Clinique Pore Refining Solutions Instant Perfector
You know I’m all about minimizing the appearance of pores! This month I’ve been loving this one by Clinique. The consistency is similar to the Benefit POREfessional except the Clinique version is less creamy and more matte. Due to it’s thicker formula, it doesn’t spread out as easily as the POREfessional, and tends to be slightly more drying, but it definitely covers my pores better overall. The shade that I have is Invisible Light which pretty much blends seamlessly right in with my skin tone.
Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour
These have to be one of the softest yet most pigmented cream eyeshadow sticks I have ever used (review here). They are extremely creamy and glide on the skin with zero resistance. I have a bunch of colors and I love every single one of them but my favorites are Cocoa (for lining the upper lash line) and Amethyst (shown here; for lining the lower lash line). Amethyst is such a beautiful mauve-taupe that will make your eyes twinkle!
Marc Jacobs Remedy Concealer Pen
Under eye dark circles is not my primary concern but I still like to use an eye brightening product on a daily basis to make myself look more awake and refreshed. This one by Marc Jacobs is very light and thin in consistency which is perfect to use under the eye area. It is highly blendable and sets quickly to a skin-like, cake-free finish. The patented palladium applicator is my favorite part as it instantly cools upon contact with skin! Not the best tool for blending but you can’t beat the refreshing sensation! :)
So what do you think of my favorite items this month? Anything you have tried or would like to try? What has been the one product you reach for everyday for the month of April?

NARS TM is my fav base product of all time. I’ve tried hundreds if not thousands of base products. It’s a HG for me in the lightest shade. Unfortunately the color only really works for me in the late spring, summer, and early fall because it’s 1/2 color too dark and just slightly too peachy! Siberia works in the winter but it’s slightly too yellow but the formula sticks to EVERYTHING! Only on my best days can I wear it. I need to find something in between the two that preforms like the NARS TM in all categories.
I’m really impressed with the Nars TM! :) Should have tried it a lot sooner. I have not tried a whole lot of base products so I don’t really know what would be a close match. But since Summer will be here very soon, at least you will get to use the Nars again! :)
Yay! I’m so glad you like the Nars TM, Jaa! I use it daily and love it. I’ve been loving the YSL Kiss and Blush this month, so much that I have four of them now!
Four?! Wow!! :D What shades do you have, Carolyn? I have been tempted to get it but I don’t know if I will get along with the strong “mango” scent! Are they drying on the lips?
Hi Jaa! I have #1 Fuschia Desinvolte, #4 Orange Fougueux, #8 Pink Hedoniste and #12 Moca Garconne. I know, I feel a little guilty for going overboard on these. My first one was #8 and I really loved how it looked on the cheeks (more natural than powder blush, flattering color for NC30) and its great staying power on my very oily skin! After my experience with #8, I then purchased #4 which I think is a beautiful pop of color for summer. And yesterday I purchased #1 and #12 — I do think these last two will be my last purchase from the collection (hopefully) as they are a bit pricey! I can thank Temptalia for my initial interest in the product and also for becoming super curious about #1 (Fuschia Desinvolte).
Good question about if they’re drying on the lips. I have extremely dry lips but surprisingly, I don’t find these drying. They’re definitely not hydrating though, but I don’t find my lips feeling parched either. I do wear a very light layer of Bite Beauty’s Agave Mask (I purchased it during the VIB sale and love it! Thanks so much for your review!) underneath, but it’s not absolutely necessary.
I have to say that I do like the scent, but I find it dissipates and isn’t noticeable after a little bit, so hopefully that’s something that won’t prevent you from liking the product!! Are you not a fan of the scent in their other lip products?
I hope you get to try these soon, Jaa!
#8 Pink Hedoniste would be the first color I would pick, too! I can see how it would look more natural and last longer than traditional powder blush! #1 Fuschia Desinvolte looks like a really gorgeous color to use on the lips. Ah… Carolyn! Why must you tempt me! :(
I asked about the scent because I couldn’t stand the strong mango scent in the Golden Gloss. It didn’t dissipate and seemed to linger for a long time on my lips. As much as I loved them, I had to return. :(
I’m really curious about these, though. I may try just one color first and see how I like it. I mean, I can always bring it back if the scent bothers me. :D
Can’t wait to hear how you like it if you end up trying it, Jaa! :)
Hey Jaa, I think I tried that Clinique pore refined a long long time ago! It has most probably been reformulated a couple of times at least by now! I agree with you on Amethyst. So looking forward to the new shades I was told about, but that’s not for another month or two!
I will soooo get whatever the new shades they are coming out with! It’s my mission to collect as many shades as I can possibly get my greedy hands on! :D
Curse all you terrible Amethyst lovers! :-P I want that shade really badly now. I’m not sure it’ll necessarily be that special with blue eyes, but (and this might sound odd) I think it would look really great with my hair/skintone :-P
I just don’t see Amethyst not working on anyone, Syl! Get it get it get it get it!! :D :D :D
Wow I really wish we had a Sephora in the Netherlands… those Laura Mercier sticks are like wow, and I absolutely love Nars! My favorite this month is Armani Luminous Silk foundation, have you tried that before? It’s my HG now,and I think it will be for months more! I also love my go to blush MAC Tenderling!
I have the Armani Luminous Silk! I love it, although I’m not sure if it is my HG at the moment! I have quite a few that I like and it’s hard to pick one as my HG. :D
I have seen online swatches of MAC Tenderling and it’s BEAUTIFUL! Definitely next on my to-try list of MAC blushes! :)
Thanks for stopping by, Brenda! <3
I have been on a no makeup buy for sometime and I am seeing these Bobbi Brown sticks everywhere like its a sign!! :D Great picks!
How long have you been on a no-buy, Divya? I think I tried it once and it actually lasted for a month! I was so proud of myself. But of course, the withdrawal is the worse, because once I started buying again, I bought twice as much as I would have had I not been on the no-buy! Haha.
I am super excited about the Bobbi Brown Art Sticks! They tend to do lip products well, so I feel heartened to know that you like them. :) It must be true that these are good.
I like them! The creamy matte formula feels nice on the lips, plus they are just so easy to use. :D
I really really really want to try Nars TM!!!!! But I’ve so many face stuff opened right now I just can’t bring myself to buy another TM!! Definitely next on my list though!!!
Same here, Rachelle! The only difference is I can’t seem to stop buying!!!! >.<
What a gorgeous collage. I’ve been wanting to try NARS foundation (or tinted moisturizer) for so long! But because I can only order it online I’m afraid I’ll end up with the wrong shade… I have a couple of NARS lip and cheek products though, but those were pretty fool-proof to order online.
Thanks, Melissa! I agree, it’s really hard to order base products online. When I do, I try to look up as many swatches as possible. But even then, a lot of times I ended up picking the wrong color. Lol. But the good thing buying products in the US is you can always return or exchange so it’s not too much of a gamble. Can you return used/opened makeup in Switzerland?
Lovely collage! You’re really tempting me to try the Bobbi Brown Art Sticks. I’m so glad you bought the NARS PRTM and love it! It’s one of my all-time fave products! The coverage is incredible and it just makes your skin feel like…skin! So lightweight yet such great coverage. Pure love!
Thanks to you, Kristen! You keep showing it on your instagram and you know how I am easily influenced! ^_^
