Probably everyone in the makeup industry knows that Benefit is the brow authority. Last year the brand launched a huge collection of eyebrow products which some of them I have managed to try. Most items in the collection were created to color and shape the brows but there's this one very special item that is more of a brow care than brow makeup. The reviews are nearly 100% positive but I was still skeptical considering that my brows are so sparse and thin. I guess my curiosity got the better of me so I decided to give it a go and not expect much. Wow, little did I know it'd become a staple in my brow makeup arsenal!
Benefit BROWVO! Conditioning Primer Nutrient Rich Eyebrow Primer is a double-duty product that promises to stimulate the growth of brow hairs as well as extend the staying power of your brow makeup. The formula is best described as a clear, unscented gel that spreads easily without leaving oily or crunchy residue once set. For first-time use, you will have to spend a few minutes twisting the base of the tube to dispense the gel through the slanted applicator. After that, everything comes out with just one twist (and one twist is plenty for both of my brows). I recommend you wipe the applicator tip clean every time after use to avoid the dried-up leftover messing up with your next application.
Here's a close-up of the applicator tip. It's made of bumpy, rubbery material that helps spread the formula from root-to-tip while combing the brow hairs in place. It is flexible so it will glide along the shape of your brows easily. Always remember to let the formula dry down completely before following with your brow makeup (powder/pencil/cream) otherwise it can make your application uneven and patchy.
The formula is packed with keratin and soy proteins known to help brows look thicker, healthier, and fuller. Knowing this, not only do I wear it under my brow makeup during the day but I also wear it alone to bed! Just trying to get the most benefit out of it even when I sleep! After several months of use, I can honestly say that the skin under my brows has improved. It feels soft and conditioned. My brow hairs also seem to have softened and become more manageable. Sometimes I do get flaky spots on the inner side of my brows and this product takes care of it nicely.
Although I haven't noticed much of hair growth in the area that I don't have brow hairs before, I can tell you that it did help lengthen the growth and improve the look of existing hairs considerably. My brows now appear darker, fuller, and healthier so color me impressed!
It gets my highest praise when used as a brow primer! By providing a good priming base, your brow makeup will have something to adhere to. I did a comparison with and without and found that with this primer underneath, my brows stay intact all day, not the slightest of fading in sight! Well, that's just awesome for someone whose skin can become quite oily when it's hot out. If you notice your brow products not lasting very long, definitely consider giving this one a try!
I’ve never heard of this! Interesting idea. I tried Castor Oil, what a disaster! I broke out so bad!
