Bite 5 Night Fix for Lips Review & Swatches

If you’ve been reading Hello Jaa for a while, you know how much I love the Bite Agave Lip Mask! I think I must have raved about it about 987467684 times already. :D However, at US$26 a tube, I realize that not everyone can afford it. But what if I tell you that it now comes in a mini size, along with a mini scrub stick, in an adorable glass jar, for only $15? Yep! I think there’s no better time to try it than now!

Bite 5 Night Fix for Lips is a two-step lip treatment system to replenish dry and chapped lips. The kit includes a mini Whipped Cherry Scrub Stick, Agave Lip Mask, and glass jar with a screw-on cap. The red label on the jar can be peeled off to reveal a list of ingredients for both products. Mainly they are made of 100% food-grade ingredients!

Bite recommends using the Whipped Cherry Scrub Stick first to exfoliate/scrub away lip impurities (dry flakes, dead skin cells, for example), then following with the Agave Lip Mask to repair chapped lips. Continue usage daily for 5 nights and your lips will be repaired and looking healthy again.

Step 1: Exfoliate with the Scrub Stick

The Whipped Cherry Scrub Stick (0.04 oz / 1.15 g) is, I assume, the same as their Whipped Cherry Lip Scrub that comes in a jar but packaged in a stick instead. It has a whipped, mousse-like texture that smells like cherry! The pale pink formula contains antioxidant Resveratrol and Vitamin C to fight free radicals and brighten lips. It also contains rice bran as an exfoliant. One thing worth noting about the Bite’s version of lip scrub is that, it isn’t nearly as abrasive as other lip scrubs. Their beads are sparse, soft, and very gentle. They are no where near as scrubby as traditional brown sugar scrubs so they offer a better (gentler) option for those with severely dry/sensitive lips. See my complete review including swatches of this product here.

The funny thing about this stick is if you scrub the stick directly on your lips, you will feel a stronger “scrubbing” effect than if you apply and then use your fingertip to scrub! Try it and you’ll know what I mean! :D

Now that our lips are soft and fairly moisturized, it’s time for step 2!

Step 2: Hydrate with the Agave Lip Mask

The Agave Lip Mask (0.18 oz / 5 g) has a really thick and yellowish consistency but it spreads easily with a fingertip. It has a sweet honey scent that does not linger. If you have a full-sized tube, you probably don’t like the packaging very much because it’s hard to squeeze the product out and the tube has a tendency to rip over time. The mini version, however, is much easier to use as it’s made of a different material (plastic-coated aluminum tube, perhaps).

The mask’s main ingredient is medical grade Lanolin and contains “triple the amount of antioxidant trans-resveratrol found in red wine”. It leaves a super shiny finish so it’s best to wear it to bed although you can always blot it and apply as a lip treatment/primer during the day. The thick mask consistency acts as a protective barrier to lock in moisture and prevent lips from drying out. I have been using this lip mask exclusively this winter to keep my lips in excellent condition! For a more thorough review including swatches, please see my original post here.

As mentioned before, this treatment system promises to replenish your dry, chapped lips within 5 days of continued use. Unfortunately, I cannot confirm if this claim is true since I haven’t had one day of dry, chapped lips this winter! As soon as the weather started getting cold, I slapped on the Agave Lip Mask right away, twice a day in the A.M. and P.M. and my lips have been in excellent condition since.

Bite 5 Night Fix for Lips is a great little set to try out the brand’s popular lip treatments without committing to full-sized products (and high-priced tags!). Although I have a feeling that once you finish them, especially the mask, you’ll be more than willing to buy the full-size soon after. The little glass jar is super adorable and a nice bonus to keep both products safe and secure in one place. I definitely encourage you to try it! :)

ELF also had elf lip exfoliator in a stick form, Jaa. Not as fancy as BITE’s ingredients , but it’s quite good (no paraben). But, for sure I still want to buy the Agave Lip Mask!

I have been wanting to try this. Based on past purchased I can confidently say Bite Beauty makes really great products. This review was really helpful in a wee bit of decision making lol.

Haha I’m certain you’ll love the mask at least! The scrub stick you’ll either love it or not love it depending on how scrubby you prefer your exfoliator to be. I think it’s a little too gentle for me! :)

What a cute idea! I’ve really been wanting to try the lip mask, but the price has put me off slightly. This set might be the perfect way to banish my chapped wintry lips once and for all ;)

Hey Jen! Yeah, the full price is steep I agree but it lasts a reeeeeeeeally long time. This mini is a great way to try out the formula first! :)

Love the agave lip mask! The scent and taste are awesome. Though my blue tube of LaBello still seems to have a longer moisturizing effect… And remains my #1 pick.

Excuse me? You haven’t had dry and chapped lips this winter? You bastard, lol. And this is totally wish listed (for a while now).

I usually just wipe it off with a warm washcloth but if I’m being lazy, I just leave it as it is. :D It doesn’t leave residue on the lips like most sugar scrubs so I think it’s OK to leave it on. :)

Immediate EHBO for lips, in the jar it even looks medicinal! Cute scrub colour as well (not that it has anything to do with its function).

Thanks for telling us about the set! ;-)
I meant to try the lip mask soon, but you’re right – $26 a tube is a bit much since I don’t particularly suffer from dry lips.
I like the idea of lip scrub in a stick form, too. I don’t think I’d do so well with something in a jar.

Oh the scrub stick is super convenient, Lena! I wish they made a full-size! I’m running out of my Agave Lip Mask AGAIN so as crazy expensive as it is, I just have to bite the bullet and buy it because it truly work wonders for my lips. :)

i’ve been contemplating getting this just b/c the price seems so good. i didn’t realize it was so small. the pic on sephora makes it look much bigger. i think you’re right though. i just might get hooked on these once i start. ive read too many good (generally) reviews of the lip masks lately.

(and how did you not have any dry lips during this winter?….though maybe that’s more of a problem here where its -30C)/

I just slather on a thick layer of the lip mask every night! :) I also use it during the day too but I blot the excess before I apply my lipstick. It really helps keep my lips in good condition! :)

The actual tubes are really small, yes! I think I can finish the scrub stick within a week or two. LOL

  8. I so need an Agave Lip Mask in my life. Desperately. My lips have been misbehaving for MONTHS. They are ok for a week or so, then back to Sahara-level dryness. I hate them right now, and they know it.
