Burberry Cashmere Concealer Review & Swatches

Burberry Cashmere Concealer

I'm starting to wonder if there will ever be a Burberry makeup product that I don't like? Seriously, everything I've tried so far has been such a hit! Granted, I haven't tried everything but those I have (see reviews: Sheer Eyeshadow, Lip Velvet Long Wear Lipstick, Fresh Glow Luminous Fluid Base, and Lip & Cheek Bloom) are truly fantastic pieces that I'd recommend to everyone in a heartbeat. But what about the new Cashmere Concealer that promises to correct and perfect your complexion? Well, I've put it to the test and here's what I think!

First of all, what a great name! Who wouldn't want something with a soft cashmere touch carressing their skin? :D The Burberry Cashmere Concealer comes in a twist-pen style. The pen is a basic, dark gray pen with a matte surface and has a cap that shuts securely with a click. The concealer has the softest, most fluffy, dome-shaped sponge-tip applicator I've ever used (I'm not joking!). Hopefully my close-up shots below could convey the softness of it!

Tip: Due to the larger-than-usual size of the applicator, be mindful when you replace the cap as it could create quite a mess inside. I wish the cap had a bigger opening so that the applicator wouldn't touch it when opening and closing.

I hated to ruin the pristine softness and brightness of the fluffy applicator but I had to. And here is the applicator being soaked with the product (so totally unnecessary but HelloJaa is known for odd close-up shots so here goes):

I purchased Porcelain No.01 which is a few shades lighter than my current skin (NC30) as I wanted to use it a brightener and not really a concealer. Porcelain No.01 is a pale pink beige color that once blended brightens up my complexion beautifully. It is free of fragrance and does not seem to irritate my skin/under eye area in any way.

The formula is infused with “Burberry's signature English blend of rosehip, tea, and lavender” for the skin's benefits. For a medium-to-full coverage concealer, I have to say the Cashmere Concealer has such a lightweight and thin texture compared to most concealers I've tried. It applies so smoothly, evenly, and lightly, and blends seamlessly into the skin even when I use just my ring finger to tap it in. For an even more flawless result, you can also use a Beautyblender to blend. Its creaminess allows for ease of application without tugging or dragging the skin.

Not only is the Cashmere Concealer blendable, it is also buildable without causing cakiness! In the photo below (R), I applied 2 layers in the center of my forehead, under eye area (upside down triangle), side of the nose, the corner of my mouth, and a little bit on the center of my chin. It has the ability to beautifully blur fine lines and large pores as well as smoothing and brightening my complexion so that my skin overall appears more even, softer, and brighter. I also look much more awake on the After side because my dark circle was nicely concealed! On areas where I suffer extreme redness, I like to apply this product as a corrector and follow with my usual concealer that matches my skin color. It doesn't cause my concealer to cake or appear heavy by any means.

It works well on bare skin as well as over foundation. Setting is optional as it remains a soft, cashmere matte finish all day without settling into fine lines or losing coverage. Pretty impressive considering that I have a super oily T-zone. A little goes a long way, too, due to its rich pigmentation (this helps justify the steep price tag!). Phenomenal texture and performance, maximum smoothing and brightening effect, (and the incredibly soft applicator), makes Burberry Cashmere Concealer a must-have in my book and one that I will happily repurchase again and again. :)

OOOOO I never paid much attention to this because I didn’t know if it’s just gimmicky. Now I feel the need to GET ONE LOL Your post went live at a great time because I’m going to be around the one and only Burberry counter here in Belgium. My wallet senses danger!

LOL at Sunny’s comment. I don’t get much option here, since I live in a smaller town. I find that it helps me keep my stash manageable, but your post really sold this concealer :-)

I’m kinda glad that I live outside Bangkok, too. But then again, online shopping is so easy to do so I don’t know if it helps anything in my case. LOL.

Sounds (and looks) like a very promising product. I’m keen to explore more from Burberry after trying the Beauty Box so I’ll definitely keep this one on the “list”. :-)

Oh yeah I just read your review! Burberry makeup is so underrated. They need to advertise more because I really think their products are of top-notch quality!

Ooh, it seems really nice! But I like your photos the most. The softness and fluffiness of the brush seems to come right out of my screen ^_^”

LOL. I usually dab it on the back of my hand and use my finger to pick it up and apply it on my face. But over bare skin, I like to just apply it directly. The only drawback of this type of applicator; so hard to clean. But the softness of it, though. It might be worth it!

I usually just dab it on the back of my hand and pick it up with my finger. Beats the purpose but anything to keep it clean longer. Unless wearing on bare skin then I will just apply it directly on my face. Hmm.. now I wonder if I can clean it like I do a regular makeup brush!

Ooh, this sounds fabulous! Love that it’s blendable and matte. I’m about to finish my Cle de Peau concealer and wanted to buy something a bit less expensive this time around ;)

The packaging it self is so frikin good. And when it comes to Burberry I have just read rave reviews nothing else. Hopefully soon il be able to get hold of Burberry makeup range.

  8. This sounds (and looks!) amazing. (Especially the T-zone part ^^). I always find it super practical if you can easily apply it above or below foundation. So I’m happy to hear it can. And the look of it alone … Makes me wanna go run to the nearest store ^^

Haha I know right? Burberry is such a great but understated makeup brand. They do everything so well; quality, appearance, performance. I’ve never been disappointed by anything I’ve tried from them! :)
