February 2015 Favorites

February has come and gone in the blink of an eye it seems! So much has happened this month that I have decided to write a separate post about it. I’ll have all the details including a major announcement to share tomorrow or on Sunday at the latest so do come back if you’re interested! For now, let’s check out some of the items that I’ve been using religiously this month! :)

LORAC Unzipped Cheek Palette

This cheek palette has all the colors I need for every makeup look! We have a shimmery pale pink, a golden bronze, a rosy pink, all the way to a super bright hot pink. I like the versatility as well as the quality of the palette. The powders are finely-milled, intensely pigmented, and super blendable. The set comes with a nude lipstick, too. Read my full review here.

Becca Under Eye Brightening Corrector

This has to be one of the better performing eye brightening correctors I’ve tried to date. The pale pink beige cream contains plenty of light-reflecting shimmer to brighten up the eye area. It preps the skin by covering up dark circles as well as providing a brighter and smoother base for the concealer to glide onto. Read my full review here.

Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer

I’ve been using this concealer almost every single day and I’m still amazed every time at how lightweight and creamy and smooth it feels on the skin, all while providing incredible coverage and a natural-looking demi-matte finish. I use it to diffuse darkness under my eyes, redness around my nose as well as acne scars and hyperpigmentation on my cheeks. Read my full review here.

NARS NARSissist Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow Palette

My eyeshadow palette of the month! I love the color selection, quality, and ability to use the powder wet or dry. When used dry, the colors are light and work-appropriate; when used wet, they transform to a more intense version with a high-impact finish. The palette comes with a shader brush that works great with the Dual-Intensity formula, too. Read my full review here.

NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Liquid Foundation

I plan to write a proper review of this foundation next week but in short, it is as amazing as the reviews say! Lightweight, incredible coverage, and more importantly, you only need a tiny, tiny amount to cover the entire face. It leaves such a beautiful and believable semi-matte finish that doesn’t look like you have caked on your foundation. I can’t wait to tell you more about it. Stay tuned! Edited 03.02.15: the review is up! :)

So how was your February? Did you do anything fun/memorable on the big Valentine’s Day? What makeup items have you been using most often this month? :)

my boyfriend followed his annual tradition of cooking me a multicourse gourmet meal for valentine’s day! this month has been a battle of great palettes. i’m always torn between using my Nars Dual Intensity and my Lorac Party palettes! i’m course i’m also obsessed with the Shu Uemura Metal:Ink eye liners! i grabbed some samples of the Nars All Day Luminous foundation and i think i really like it. just trying to decide which shade i like best

That’s so sweet of him! :D The new NARS foundation runs a little more yellow than their Sheer Glow formula. I use Punjab in both but I think the Sheer Glow’s Punjab matches my skin a little better. What’s your skin color?

NARS has been stepping up its game lately. The dual intensity eye shadow palette looks gorgeous, and from the photos I’ve been seeing, the blushes look just as beautiful. I’m also curious about the foundation because I’ve read mixed reviews. However, from all the review I’ve read, this foundation seems to work much better on those without dry skin :-)

Oh I’m so lemming the blushes! It’s so hard to decide on the color, though! Every one of them looks sooo pretty! I can see why the foundation doesn’t work really well on dry skin. The formula sets SO fast and it clings on every dry spot if the skin is not well-prepped prior to the application!

I really need to try this Nars foundation, I have read nothing but great things about it!

I have been really loving my Unzipped Gold palette that I got for Valentine’s Day :-)

Happy weekend, Jaa! Hope you get some rest!

Hey Melissa, I did! Tried a sample and loved it so much that I bought a full-size! Are you testing it right now or planning to buy it?

Thanks, Jen! I love the foundation! The coverage is incredible and you only need so little per application. I think Sephora is giving out samples right now if you’re interested! :)

Okay, I now want the LORAC cheek palette along with the NARS palette.

I had the most boring Valentine’s Day, which was pretty great.

I didn’t include the NARS palette in my favorites because I didn’t think I’d used it enough but it is so AMAZING and will probably be in there next month. :-) Going to the NARS review now. xo
