First Impression: NARS NARSskin Total Replenishing Eye Cream

NARS NARSskin Total Replenishing Eye Cream

New from NARS NARSskin this month is the newly repackaged Total Replenishing Eye Cream! I haven’t tried any skincare products from them before so I’m a little excited to give this a go. Since the product literally just landed on my desk a couple days ago so I can’t report on the anti-aging benefits yet. This post is going to be a first impression kind of post where I’m going to tell you about the ingredients, texture, and immediate results after use! :)

I believe the product is simply a repackaging of their Total Replenishing Eye Cream (source). I heard that the old packaging was difficult to squeeze the last bit out so they revamped it. I normally don’t like skincare products that come in an open jar but for an eye cream — which I go through it like water — I actually like the one that comes in a jar!

And when it comes to NARS, it can’t just be a simple jar. Their Total Replenishing Eye Cream is housed in a pearly white, square pot with a lid that closes with a secure click. Simple, clean, yet modern — true to NARS’ style!

Top ingredients

  • Bio-Hyaluronic Acid to hydrate
  • Active Peptide Complex to reduce the look of puffiness and dark circles
  • Paracress Flower Extract to strengthen the skin around the eyes for a smoother and firmer appearance

It is ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested, non-comedogenic, and free of synthetic fragrance, paraben, and alcohol. However, it isn’t entirely free of scent, though! I detected something a little orange-y/citrusy during application so I looked in the leaflet and found top notes to be of orange and grapefruit while middle notes are tangerine, violet, rose, peony, and geranium, with a drydown of lavender and litsea which are all 100% naturally derived fragrance. It has such a great, delicious scent for an eye cream!

Texture and immediate results

It has a lightweightgel-cream, pearly white texture that spreads easily and absorbs instantly into the skin without leaving any sticky, oily, or greasy residue behind. Therefore, I imagine that it probably won’t affect your makeup’s coverage or application!

There’s not a better time to test a “hydrating” eye cream than when you are coming down with a cold! Yes, I’ve been sick for a few days now (so not fun!). I’ve been putting this cream on a few times a day and so far it has helped keeping the skin around my eyes in soft and supple condition! The area doesn’t look as dry and dehydrated like the rest of my face so I think for immediate hydrating benefits, the NARS NARSskin Total Replenishing Eye Cream totally delivered!

Pairing it with the Radiant Creamy Concealer

NARS suggests using the eye cream in combination with their Radiant Creamy Concealer to reduce the appearance of fatigue right before your eyes. The eye cream smooths and brightens while the concealer disguises and perfects. Sounds wonderful! Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to try this yet (well, I’ve been sick so I’ve been in bed pretty much all day). Will report back ASAP! :)

Looking forward to your thoughts after testing it for a while. I have never tried any skincare products from Nars either! But in theory, it sounds great!

I’d never think of NARS if I wanted to buy skincare. NARS is more about makeup to me. Hope you get better soon, Jaa. Take care!!

Thanks, Lily! I’m all better now. Well, it’s been almost a month haha. I’m very bad at returning comments, aren’t I?!

Wow, sounds like a winner! I like the sleek packaging too. I’ve been sick all week too, so I could use a hydrating eye treatment too ;) Hope you’re feeling better!

I’ve used this before and thought it was a nice product. It’s a touch more brightening than my two Derma E eye creams but it’s not quite as hydrating as their Hydrating Eye Cream. It works well with the RCC but you must let it absorb COMPLETELY and set it with LRSP (loose or pressed) or LM Secret Brightener. NARS loose in Snow also works.

I personally prefer snow because I use vanilla under my eyes which is a hair too dark for me but the right undertone to correct the circles I have. Snow lightens and brightens without changing the tone.

Thanks for sharing your experience with us, Erin! You are truly a wealth of information! I agree with you that you have to let the eye cream (any eye cream actually) completely absorb first before following with a concealer or the application could look really messy!

I’m sure it smells lovely but I’m not so sure that applying citrus, geranium and lavender oils (the only way to “naturally derive” fragrance from these plants) in the eye area is such a great idea for those with sensitive skin or eyes. I imagine that the quantities are extremely small, but all 3 are pretty irritating for the skin in general, so I wouldn’t let them near my eyes at all.
Too bad because this cream looks great otherwise!

Oh thank you so much for the info! It’s always great to hear it from a trusty fellow blogger. I must be pretty lucky then since my skin did not react to it at all. My skin seems to “drink” up the cream nicely. :)

Looks promising! I’ve always been interested in the NARS skin care range but never got around to actually purchasing. :-)

NARS skincare isn’t really something I’ve considered before but the eye cream does sound promising. Awaiting your thoughts after you’ve had a chance to test it out some more. :-)

I didn’t even know NARS made skin care items. I’ll have to add this to my ever growing list of eye creams to try. For some reason it takes me forever to use up an eye cream; I had never considered using them more than twice a day.

This is my first NARS skincare item and I have to say it’s pretty nice! I used to apply eye cream once a day at night before bed but as I age, I try to do it at least twice a day or more to keep those fine lines and wrinkles away as long as possible. :)
