It is always exciting when Fresh releases a new color to join their famous Sugar Lip Treatment SPF 15 line! I was already a big fan of the formula and have bought several shades in the past years. I knew it was only a matter of time before they came out with a bright pink shade. And alas, here it is, a dream come true! Meet Tulip, everyone! :)

Tulip is a blue-based, cool-toned, bright hot pink that is inspired by the tulips planted along the New York City’s Park Avenue every Spring season. The pink lip balm is wrapped in a matching color matte aluminum casing to coordinate with the color of the product inside. I like the unique screw-on cap because it keeps the balm safe and secure in my purse much better than a case with just a simple click lock cap.

Similar to other shades in the lineup, Tulip also features an incredibly soft and buttery formula that basically just melds into your lips (it is so soft that you have to make sure to take extra caution during application or the bullet may smush or break off; yes, I have had that happen before, it’s a mess!). It also has a signature scent that reminds me of something lemony, sweet sugary that I absolutely adore. I know a lot of people turn down this product because of the scent, but for me, I really, really love it! I find the scent fresh, and light; it just puts me in a good mood whenever I apply it. :D

Tulip literally glides on the lips with zero resistance. Although it appears quite saturated in the tube, it’s actually quite sheer when applied on the lips. With one swipe, you get a sheer tint of color that still allows your natural lip pigment to shine through; with two swipes, the pink comes through better and becomes brighter; and if you blot down and layer even more (and repeat), you may even see a full-on fuchsia! Due to my pigmented lips, I usually do just two passes to get a work-appropriate, MLBB shade. :)

Aside from the delicious scent and lovely color, Tulip also provides a good amount of hydration to keep lips soft and supple during wear. It doesn’t last long, though, perhaps a few hours at most, and will require touch-ups later on in the day. I like how it leaves behind a soft stain that doesn’t dry out my lips after the initial sheen has worn off. The added sun protection is such a nice (and very welcome) bonus. It has Avobenzone and Octinoxate to keep lips protected from both UVA and UVB rays.

Top: layered;
Bottom: 1 pass (L) and 2 passes (R)
Of all the shades that I have in my collection, I’m proud to announce that Tulip has taken my number one spot! The pink hue is just too lovely; not to mention pink is my favorite lip color. It may not be the most moisturizing lip balm but I find it just perfect for the Summer months where I tend to stay away from heavy lip products.
Are you looking forward to trying Tulip? What is your current favorite shade (if you have any)?
(STILL) In dire need of a new lip balm….. Are the Stila ones I bought lip balms or are they lip sticks????? @_@ I forgot lol.
$22.50 for a lip balm is a little over budget for me right now – unless it is as good as the Dior Lip Glow? Do you think so? If yes then I shall give this a try!
Anyway the floral background is ADORABLE!!!!!!!!! ♡
I think those Stila ones are lip balms! You bought sooo many already you don’t need another one!!!
Tulip is reeeeally pretty, though! It isn’t as long-lasting as the Dior Lip Glow but its formula is softer and much much more pigmented. :)
Thanks!!! The background goes well with the product yeah? :D
Okok if they’re lip balms then I don’t need anymore!!!! But Etude House literally just launched their new line of lip balms…. Sigh

LOL. Stop looking! Close the browser! And wait for your stuff! Haha.
Impossible to do. I know. ;)
I have tried these but from your review I’m convinced to grab mine soon. I love how gorgeous it looks while you swipe just once.
Yeah, the pigmentation is cray cray for a tinted lip balm! :)
Wow what a color
Your photos are always so so drool worthy Jaa
Yay! Thanks, Krithi!! ^_^
I am so sold. I wish the beauty gods bring Sugar Lip here in Manila. xx
Hopefully soon! :)
I have tried FRESH SUGAR lip balms so many times but just cud never buy them as I cudnt justify the high price ever :( lets c when do these babies ever become mine
Yep, not gonna lie, it’s pretty pricey for a lip balm but the quality (not to mention the cutest packaging) is very worth it in my opinion! :)
This looks pretty! How does the colour compare to the Lolli- and Posie- things from Benefit, out of curiosity? (Both the tint and the balm)
I really want to try Fresh stuff one day (as a lip balm fanatic) – and they seem to have such a nice range of tinted things!
Oh Tulip is much much more pigmented than the Benefit balms, Syl! But the Benefit tints are staining products so they have crazy pigmentation that lasts throughout the wear.
I can’t recommend Fresh lip balms enough. Love love love ’em! :)
I really like the Fresh formula! In fact, I’d probably list it as my favorite. I don’t usually need a lip balm during daytime though, so I probably won’t purchase more of it. I’ve tried the clear one and Rose when they were offered as a birthday present at Sephora :) I can’t believe how tinted Tulip can look when it is layered!
I have the same birthday gift! I was actually introduced to the brand by that set! One of the best birthday gifts for sure! :)
What do you wear during the day? The lip product that you’re testing? I can’t go a day without a lip balm haha.
This looks so pretty but a little pricey for a balm …
I let out a small “ouch” during checkout! ;D
Hi Jaa! As always, your photos are amazing. Tulip is such a pretty color! I own Fresh lip balm in Rose and like it. I really want to try Tulip but I think I may be allergic to avobenzone unfortunately :(.
Thanks, Carolyn! That’s too bad! But then again, you already have two beautiful Chanel Rouge Coco Shines to play with! You probably don’t need another one. For now. ;D
You are very right, Jaa! ;)
These are my favorites but literally just melt like butter in the heat! I keep mine (i have rose, petal and coral) in the fridge.. :p in fact I use them straight out of the fridge everyday! lol!
I kinda figured it would melt in the heat!
Oh I bet it feels super reFreshing Fresh out of the fridge! ;D
I can’t wait to swatch this on myself. Since I have dark red violet lips I think it will end up being pretty bright!
You can always wear it sheer, Erin! I still have to get the Berry shade that you reviewed! :D
I’ve melted so many Sugar Lip Treatments by leaving them in my car, but I love how they feel on the lips so I don’t mind buying more when I can (or finding samples!) Rose has to be my favorite shade, though I do find myself wearing the clear version just as much.
Oh wow, how many have you bought so far? Can’t you stick it back in the fridge/freezer to re-solidify? I’d hate to see it go to waste. T_T
Did you get the Rose and Clear samples as a birthday gift set from Sephora, too? I wish they still had it in stock. The set was too cute! :D
Thanks for stopping by, Izzie! <3
I’ve purchased Sugar Honey and Clear at least twice each over the past few years. Unfortunately when they do melt in my car I end up discovering that they’re melted by them spilling all over me! However they do solidify back up after awhile though – I should be more proactive and not leave my purse in the car.
No idea Sephora had these as b-day sets! I think I got a Clear sample as a gift for joining Beauty Insider back in the day and then Rose more recently as a rewards perk.
Ooh, what a gorgeous shade!! I think I’ll be passing on this one (I have too many of Fresh’s tinted balms already), but man: lemming created!
How can anyone pass on this beauty! Hehe. I’m so in love with it. Hopefully you will give it a try some day! ;D
