Makeup Minis Vol.30

Makeup Minis Vol.30
Makeup Minis is where I feature deluxe samples I received with my online and/or in-store purchases. I'll give you a short description of the product, my initial impression and whether I plan to purchase a full-sized version. I am only listing 3 items per volume to keep the post short and fun! :)

La Mer The Reparative Skintint SPF30 PA+++

La Mer
The Reparative Skintint SPF30 PA+++

This has a rather creamy texture compared to most tinted moisturizer. With La Mer's famous Miracle Broth as a main ingredient, it promises to repair and nourish skin over time. I find the formula slightly thick and takes a little effort to apply. The coverage is sheer so basically it will not cover imperfections such as redness or acne scars but will at least even them out. It feels slightly tacky at first but will eventually dries down to a luminous matte finish. It's the type of base that makes your skin look like your skin but better. The added sun protection is a great bonus!

Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Concealer

Bobbi Brown
Intensive Skin Serum Concealer

I'm so glad I got to try this product! I love its creamy and emollient texture so much. Basically it's a dream formula to apply for me. The trick to using this product under the eye area is to apply it sparingly and gently pat it in the skin to avoid settling into fine lines. The coverage is on the medium scale and will mostly cover dark circles and discolorations. I personally like to use it to disguise acne scars and hyperpigmentations on my cheeks and chin. Unlike most concealers, this one isn't drying at all. It gives such a natural, satin matte look but most importantly, my skin still looks like skin.

Vichy Normaderm Beautifying Anti-Blemish Care 24H Hydration

Normaderm Anti-Blemish Care 24H Hydration

Formulated to combat acne while providing 24-hour hydration, of course I was sold! Most anti-acne treatments leave my skin feeling dry and flaky but this one doesn't! It has a lightweight, gel-like texture that spreads easily over problemed skin. I love the refreshing scent! It doesn't provide much of hydration, though, just only slightly. The initial finish is a bit tacky but will dry down to a translucent matte finish after a minute or so. I didn't experience any stinging sensation even though it is formulated with AHA, BHA, and LHA. Best part? I indeed seem to be getting less breakouts!

    All three sound like winners! I do like the concealer from BB I tried it once at the counter. I should probably pick up a tube. I’ve actually come to like less coverage in a concealer for larger areas like the under eyes. I can’t do much to cover up the giant veins and hollowness with anything but filler. So a more natural look is fine for me now. I also use my foundation under the eye. I’m currently using the lightest yellowest MUFE WB F&B to counteract redness everywhere including under the eye. It’s very brightening. I also like Tata Harpers Illuminating eye cream for extra help these days. I mix it with concealer and it’s really like 8 hours of sleep in a product then.

    I’ve been wanting to try the Bobbi Brown serum concealer for a while! My undereyes have been really dry lately, and I want to test anything that can help.

    Ooh, I’ve been tempted by that Bobbi Brown concealer- love that it offers benefits to the skin in addition to coverage :)
