Makeup Minis Vol.8

Makeup Minis is where I feature deluxe samples I received with my online and/or in-store purchases. I'll give you a short description of the product, my initial impression and whether I plan to purchase a full-sized version. I am only listing 3 items per volume to keep the post short and fun! :)

Chanel Le Lift

Le Lift

This moisturizer has a lightweight gel-like texture that sinks in instantly and leaves a super soft and silky finish on the skin. I pretty much love everything about it except the strong fragrance smell! I normally love Chanel skincare scent but this one is just too overpowering for my taste. I can't confirm the anti-aging benefit because I have not used it extensively enough.

Full-sized purchase?
No (scent too strong)

Urban Decay Anarchy Revolution Lipstick

Urban Decay
Anarchy Revolution Lipstick

If you love bright fuchsia lips, this is a must-have! Anarchy is really, really bright! :) I adore the color as well as the creamy smooth consistency. It is richly pigmented, goes on opaque in one pass, and stays put for 4-5 hours. It leaves a demi-matte finish with subtle shine. The formula is scent-free. I also like that it leaves a soft pink stain on the lips once the color wears off.

Too Faced Sex Pot Glamour Gloss

Too Faced
Sex Pot Glamour Gloss

Sex Pot is a really flattering sheer, slightly milky, mauve lip gloss that you can wear for any occasion. It is shimmer-free and looks great alone as well as layered over a lipstick. The formula has a strong sweet scent and provides a tingling cooling sensation on the lips. It is non-sticky and does make my lips appear plump (though only slightly).

I’ve actually never tried Chanel skincare before! Do you have a favorite Chanel skincare item, Jaa? Do you think it’s worth the money? Sometimes I’m hesitant to use skincare from companies that are known for their makeup. I’ve never tried UD Revolution lipstick before but have heard so many good things, so hopefully that’ll be one day soon :).

My favorite right now is the Le Blanc Brightening Moisture Lotion. ^_^ I have also used the UV Essential SPF 50 and Ultra Correction Line Repair. Honestly when it comes to skincare it’s difficult to say whether it is worth the money. For some people they can use anything and their skin will still look nice regardless. I haven’t been loyal to any skincare product in particular but once in a while, I like to splurge on more expensive items. ^_^

I’m thinking of picking up the UD Full Frontal Lipstick Stash Set that comes with 6 minis and a lip pencil! So cute! ^_^

Anarchy is stunning!!! I love mini lipsticks. I hold onto them even if I don’t particularly like the shades, because they are too cute!

  3. Just looking at that Chanel Le Lift mini gives me this vision of a French guy (his name is Gérard. Or François) who’s wearing a baret and smoking a cig saying: ‘I giev’ you… ZE LIFT!’

Urban Decay’s Revolution lipsticks are one of my favourite lipsticks! I want to own, like, all of them ALL OF THEM. But particularly Lovelight, Rapture and Jilted. And Gash. And Mrs Mia Wallace. And Bang…

    I’ll stop now. :-P

I think my Chanel lipstick is one of the strongest smelling cosmetics I own, actually – second only (or maybe equal) to my Estee Lauder lipsticks. I thin kit’s the floral factor. I don’t mind the lipstick scent, as I like rose and it doesn’t taste of anything, but all over my face? That’s less appealing…

Are you getting the Full Frontal lipstick set then? The colors that you want are not included in the set (I don’t think) but still! You get to try so many colors at once (well not at the same time but you know what I mean, lol).

I actually don’t mind scented skincare/makeup as long as it goes away quickly! Can’t stand the lingering smell especially when it’s overpowering.
