More to consider

So what do you think of this year’s offerings? I have my eye on a few items (marked with ♥) but I have not finalized my list yet. According to the catalog, there will be even more sets/options online
once the sale starts and I cannot wait to see what else they have in store for us!

If you are new to Nordstrom, they offer free shipping on all orders (no minimum) and free returns anytime no questions asked (and no deadline!). Their Customer Service Team is extremely friendly and professional, too! I have had nothing but great experience with them and I can’t recommend them enough! I ♥ Nordstrom!

Will you be shopping the sale? Which product(s) are you most looking forward to? Please share with me your selection! :)

The NARS Schiap set looks pretty good, so does the MAC Look In A Box! I’ve never tried anything MAC before – this set might be a good way to test the products out :D

I’m so totally lemming the Nars Schiap set! I already own the lipstick but I don’t mind having another one; but what attracts me the most to the set is the lip gloss! OMG I see my name all over it haha!

  2. Aw maaaaan, if there was a Bobbi Brown deal like that here I’d be ALL over it! Same for the brush deals. We never really get spectacular sales like that here. Poop.

    1. says: Jaa

Awww…. I’m sorry! But you do have a lot of stuff that’s only available in Europe, too!

One thing I would be worried if I bought any makeup in Europe is I can’t return it if I don’t like it. Is that correct? I wouldn’t be spending crazy and would probably have a lot of money saved, though! Haha.

Thanks Jaa! Gaaaah really wishing I had a nordstrom card right now! Hell I even wish we had a nordstroms here in Canada ( supposed to come here later this year wheee!) . Am eyeing that Bobbi Brown and Trish McEvoy palettes & stuff ….so pretty!!

    1. says: Jaa

That’s exciting news, Dee! Would it be near your house? I’d probably walk there every day after work and probably before work haha!

    1. says: Jaa

I’d probably be feeling the same way if I lived in Thailand! It is hard to look at all these great deals that are only available in certain countries only! :(

Nordstrom is my favorite store (their great customer service and return policy is a huge reason why) and I’m also excited about the Anniversary sale! Like you, I’m also eyeing the NARS Schiap set! Not sure I need yet another fuschia pink (I have two fuschia pinks in my collection), but I’m really drawn to the color these days! One thing though is that I think I may be allergic to NARS Lipsticks. I have very sensitive lips and each time I wore NARS lipstick, my lips would have a slight allergic reaction afterwards. It’s been at least a year since I’ve tried again, so that’s another reason why I’m wary to purchase the set :-/.

    1. says: Jaa

Nordstrom and Sephora have the best return policies! Although Nordstrom’s might be just a bit bitter because there is no deadline for returning, while Sephora you have to return within 60 days for a full refund or 90 days for credits.

The Nars Schiap set is totally to-die-for but I wish they would only sell just the lip gloss since I already have the lipstick and I rarely wear bright nails….

I’m blessed that my lips are not sensitive so I don’t have to be picky about what goes on. Are you allergic to Nars lipsticks only or to other brands as well? Schiap is such a bold, bright, and super fun color that I would have loved for you to try. You can always return if it causes problems, though, right? ;D

      1. says: Carolyn

Thank you, dear Jaa! Unfortunately, NARS seems to be the only brand that I’ve tried so far that gives me an allergic reaction (I get small little bumps after wearing it), which is sad as I love their colors (NARS Flamingo is a gorgeous, wearable watermelon red for example)! I’m also allergic to chemical sunscreen on my lips so I have to be careful to not use lipsticks that have those SPFs (for example, YSL Rouge Volupte). You’re right though, Nordstrom has a great return policy so I could always return if I end up having a reaction!

Do you think Schiap compliments our ~NC30 skintone well?

        1. says: Jaa

I understand the feeling of loving something but not being able to use it due to allergic reactions! My last experience was with the new Chanel foundation, love the finish, it just doesn’t love me. Haha.

I just looked up Nars Flamenco swatches and wow you’re right, it’s a gorgeous color! You’d totally rock it, too!

Schiap is so beautiful, Carolyn. It compliments our NC30 skin tone really well, at least in my opinion! It really is such a cute pop of pink! ^_^ I can’t wait to try the lip gloss from this set!

  5. says: Grace

Oh girl, that’s a lot of make up you are buying:) I haven’t used Nordstrom before. I must check out their website. I am saving money for my Singapore & HK trip so I won’t go as crazy as you. I have the natural eye palette by too faced in mind, also louise young super fundation brush. I will see if it’s on special. Thanks x

    1. says: Jaa

I have the Louise Young foundation brush but I’m not 100% sure if I like it (I’ve only used it a couple of times). The brush shape is a little different than the other foundation brushes I have so I may need to get used to it a bit more.

When are you going to SG and HK? Are you super excited?! I’d be!! :D

  6. says: Grace

I am not sure if I should get the tart foundation brush or the louise young one. Have you tried the tart one yet?

I am going there late Sep/ early Oct. I can’t wait to eat the awesome food and all the shopping:) I finically can shop in sephora. Apparently Sephora will be open in Sydney in December this year. How exciting!

Any where you recommend in Sigapore or HK for make up Shopping?

  7. says: Jaa

Hey Grace, I don’t have the Tarte Foundation Brush so I really can’t compare. As for the Louise Young brush, I still have mixed feeling about it. I guess I’m still trying to get used to the pointy tip!

Oh I’m so excited for your trip! Rachelle (first commenter) is from Singapore and she shops at Sephora (and other places too I’m sure) a lot. I can hook you up with her if you like?

I have been to HK once but it’s been ages. And at the time I didn’t wear any makeup so I don’t really know what would be a good place to start. But I know there are Sasa shops everywhere. They sell lots of makeup and fragrances including Asian brands! :)
