When I first saw Tom Ford Summer 2015 Soleil Collection, my heart literally skipped a beat! I'm pretty sure it happened to all of us out there who love Tom Ford makeup! All the new pieces are truly exquisite, but there's just one item that I knew I had to get my hands on it the instant I saw it, and that is the first ever cream blush from the brand called Cream Cheek Color in Pink Sand!

The gorgeous product comes cased in a palm-sized, ivory white and gold mirrored compact. There's no applicator included but you do get a matching white protective pouch.

Tom Ford Cream Cheek Color is formulated to brighten the face and give the skin a luminous glow as well as a healthy dose of color. It doesn't have any scent as far as I can tell. Pink Sand is described as a peachy-pink shade but on my medium skin (NC30 with yellow undertones), it applies more of a rose gold-pink with the most stunning golden shimmery sheen. Yes, it is very shimmery but it's the most sophisticated kind of shimmery. You won't be able to detect the shimmer particles on the skin because they are so fine. All you'd be able to see is a lustrous golden sheen and depending on the angle where the light hits, you will see more of a rosy pink base or the golden glow. I adore this type of pink as it's easy to wear and looks very flattering on my skin tone.

As with any shimmery cheek products, it's best to apply on the area where pores are less visible. I always try to apply it on the apples of my cheeks only using clean fingertips. A stippling brush works well, too, but I prefer my fingers for this particular product. Having sheer coverage and translucent finish, I feel that I can layer the subtle pigment better this way, plus, it's just faster. I also use gentle dabbing motions to blend instead of rubbing because Pink Sand has such thin and emollient texture that it's so easy to get moved around resulting in patchiness/uneven finish. By dabbing, you can build the color payoff to the level you desire with ease, less for a delicate highlighting effect or more for a flushed look, while still preserving your base from losing its coverage.

Formula-wise, it glides on and blends easily without leaving behind any stickiness, greasiness, oiliness, or tackiness on the cheeks. It feels almost like spreading some sort of good dry oil on the skin — lightweight, unnoticeable, but there. However, the uncommon thing about the Tom Ford Cream Cheek Color formula is that it doesn't fully set or dry down to a powdery finish like other high-end cream blushes such as Chanel Le Blush Crème de Chanel cream blushes. It applies dewy and sheeny and stays dewy and sheeny throughout the entire time! I'm still not sure how I feel about this. Normally I would shy away from such formula but it's hard to resist the gorgeousness of the color and the kind of sheen you're getting from this particular product!
Having an oily skin now in tropical weather, it is a must for me to set Pink Sand with a little bit of translucent dusting powder to keep the radiant sheen intact and to prevent myself from accidentally moving it (my hair touches my face a lot). It wears really well, though! For such sheer and dewy formula, I expected short wear time but Pink Sand just seems to last and last on the skin! Most of the color is still intact after a long day. Color me impressed! I bet applying it as a cream base would enhance the pigmentation and longevity of my weak powder blushes, too, though I haven't tried it yet!

Below I am wearing Pink Sand alone (no other blush or highlighter) over my foundation. Don't you just love how lovely and healthy it makes me look? :D I hope you can see that bit of subtle golden glow in the center of the cheeks and a rosy pink flush towards the side of the cheeks. I applied it in 3 layers and it still looks very subtle on me. This leads me to think that Pink Sand may be suitable as a highlighter only to those who have darker skin tone than I do.

I suspect the reason they formulated Pink Sand to a non-powdery dry down is to preserve its gorgeous luster on the cheeks during wear and after weeks of wearing it, I have to say I've come to appreciate it! It gives my face a multidimensional effect as well as a long-lasting youthful glow. Now I only want to see more colors of the formula!
Have you picked up anything from the collection? I really, really, really want to buy the Shimmering Body Oil next!
Purchase
I love this blush and it looks so stunning on you!
If it would be like Chanel formula, drying to a powdery finish, with the shimmer probably it would feel gritty.
Thanks, Sara! That makes sense!
It’s sooo beautiful on you, Jaa, and the packaging screams luxury! Talkin’ ’bout oily skin, it’s too humid here too! But I like the natural highlights haha! TC.
LOL at the natural highlights! Haha
If I was going to pick anything from this collection, this blush would be it! It’s absolutely gorgeous and every time I see someone post about it, my heart does skip a bit. Or a few beats! Unfortunately, I cannot justify the need for this product with its high price! But it does look stunning on you, Jaa!
Totally understandable! I try to be reasonable with my Tom Ford spending and only buy products that are unique! :)
Wow, Jaa! (Do all my comments on your blog start that way?:P) I am loving the pictures. You make the product look EVEN more appealing! I love this on you.. great result! It’s so pretty. I might just check out the Tom Ford section next time I’m at a beauty store :)
Haha thanks, Natasja! I’m always happy to hear that people like my photos. :D
Ah, it looks so beautiful on you Jaa. I picked up Naked Bronze which is ALL LOVE! I have been missing out on Tom Ford’s cream shadows. The wear is amazing on my normal / oily lids in this humid weather. I always thought Bobbi Brown ones wore very well, but TF is out of this world. I’m blown away!
I swear everyone is RAVING about it! Does it stay put on umprimed lids? I’m *this* close to purchasing it! I need just a little more push! LOL
OMG the packaging is so good and looks like perfect cream blush
Almost perfect! I wish it would set to a slight powdery finish! :D
Hun, you just have a way of making the product look so delectable. If I didn’t want it before, I surely want it now. Pink Sand is a stunner!
Mission accomplished! Haha
awww you look so pretty!
The Artistically Challenged
Thanks, Nancy! <3
Hey Jaa, this looks so nice and fresh on you! I am going to skip because I don’t think it’ll show up much on my skin, but I can see why you are so smitten! I picke up Naked Bronze and Midnight Sea. They are both stunners!
Not another rave review on the Naked Bronze! LOL! I am hearing positive reviews left and right. One more word about it and I’ll so totally buy it! Haha
So pretty! youre GLOWING..literally and..figuratively:) xo
Figuratively? Noooooo lol
I like the lit from within look. I do think it’s probably better for fairer toned folks though.
I bet it looks stunning on pale skin! :)
Wow it’s so beautiful! It really does add a nice youthful glow. I’m not sure I could personally make it work for me in the Summer, but I’d sure as heck try. :)
In Thailand summer is pretty much all year round, lol. Do you like Tom Ford makeup, Lisa?
You really glow, but I am kind of disappointed to hear that the product requires so much work to prevent it from going patchy.

Thanks, Anne! It’s not so bad actually. You just kind of have to get used to the thin texture and non-powdery finish a little bit in the beginning. Once you are familiar with it, you’ll learn how and how much to apply and blend. :D
So pretty. It’s very flattering on you.
Thanks so much! <3
Sure looks gorgeous on you. I would also set it with translucent powder for long lasting finish.
Powder is definitely a must for me! I always set my makeup with powder anyway. :D
Wow, Jaa! You look gorgeous here! The epitome of summer! This blush is exquisitely packaged and looks luminous on your skin. I can see why your heart skipped a beat!
Thanks so much, Kristen! It takes a little effort to use but I still really, really love it. The effect is so worth it! :)
Oh my… This is a seriously swoon-inducing blush! And I’m totally in a cream blush phase again, too, so…
So…. it’s time to splurge!!! ;D
Drooling. pretty in every way!
Ditto! :D
