I recently had a friend who lives in Hong Kong pick up the Asia-exclusive shade of Tom Ford Lip Color #22 Forbidden Pink for me. It cost me a few dollars more than I’d have to pay in the US but I’ll tell you why it’s worth the hassle to obtain this piece of luxury! :)
The packaging of Tom Ford Lip Colors is to-die-for. It looks very luxurious. It feels very luxurious. It feels as if you are holding something so extra special. And the “expensive car door” click sound it makes when snapping the cap close? Satisfying. Let’s just say there are countless mornings that I open and close the cap multiple times before applying the lipstick just to hear the sound! :D
I’d say Forbidden Pink is a mix of mauve pink and coral which is perfect for everyday wear. On my pigmented lips, it looks like “my lips but better” kind of color. But if I apply it on top of a nude lip liner, it will show its true color of coral pink better. The tip of the lipstick comes engraved with “TF” initials. It isn’t the most moisturizing lipstick but it’s definitely not drying. It applies like a dream – so creamy and smooth. The color is opaque and intensely pigmented with an extra lightweight feel. With 2 coats on, it lasts a good 4-5 hours on me.
This is definitely not a must-have shade but if you are a true Tom Ford lipstick fan, it may be worth a hassle tracking it down. At the current time of writing this post, you can get it on eBay with a hefty price tag of US$79 plus shipping. Crazy I know, that is almost 2 Tom Ford lipsticks at a regular price. So, definitely look around. Ask a friend, or a friend of a friend who may have a friend (!!) who lives in Asia to pick this up for you. Once you see this baby in person, it will all be worth it. :)
UPDATE 10.13.14: Now you can purchase Forbidden Pink directly from Tom Ford website!
