Review & Usage
Sephora Disposable Mascara Wands is a set of 12 disposable mascara spoolies in 4 different shapes. Each shape is supposed to give your lashes different results. They are lightweight. The black handle is made of plastic and the coral red bristles are made of silicone. They feel nice and soft (but not too soft) on the lashes and they separate lashes well during mascara application (though not as well as the MAC 205 Mascara Fan Brush).
There are 3 wands of each shape and since they are “disposable”, they are supposed to be tossed after application for hygienic purposes. But for $7 a set, I am not tossing anything! ;D These wands are super easy to clean and can be washed multiple times without losing their performance. I like to wash them by hand with a mixture of olive oil, baby shampoo, and dish detergent. The colored bristles make it easy to see if they are thoroughly clean and free of mascara residue.
The set contains:
- 3x Lengthening wands
- 3x Volumizing wands
- 3x Curling wands
- 3x Defining wands
If your current mascara wand does not perform the way you like it; either it’s too big, too small, or too wide, then you might want to try this set. There are 4 choices to choose from and there’s bound to be one that will suit your preference. I personally like the Lengthening one the most because it fits nicely with my small eyes and reaches well into the inner corner of my eyes.
Oh, and these wands are also great for applying eyebrow gel! :)
Dude! These are so cool. I don’t really have a need for mascara wands right now, but I kinda want them anyways — it would be cool to see how mascaras apply with different wands, you know? And the shape of these is great!
I admit. I bought them because I wanted to photograph them more than use them. LOL. Good thing they are of decent quality and fun to use! They don’t make much of a difference on my lashes, though, but that’s probably because I barely have any lashes to begin with. LOL!
I really like that these have differently shaped wands! When I first heard that Sephora was coming out with this, I pictured the set having the same type of wand throughout. Great photos, thank you, Jaa as always! :D
I thought they would be of the same shape, too! So glad they’re not. :D TGIF Carolyn!!! *hugs*
I like the idea of having a set differently shaped brushes for different purposes! Sometimes I’ll love a mascara but dislike the wand. This would be great to have then.
Exactly! I actually have this one mascara that I don’t like the wand it comes with! These would be a perfect set to try! :)
This is Great ! The color is direct to my heart pink !
I put them immediately in my Sephora wishlist !
Thank you Jaa for the review !
Xoxo

You’re welcome, Michelle! They are not really pink, though. More of coral red! :) Still super cute!! ;D
Oh fun! I knew stuff like this exists, but I always thought it’s for makeup artists! It’s so cool that there are different ones in the set as well. You get to try which shape works the best with your current mascara. Genius idea!
I have all kinds of fun tools, Sunny! And I’m not a MUA. I’m not even that good at applying makeup but I just have a thing for beauty tools! When I went into a Sephora store to buy this set, the SA asked me if I was a MUA and if I have my own Sephora. LOL! I go there way too often and buy way too much obviously. LOL.
Those are nifty looking!
They are, aren’t they?! Super cute, too!
Girl…I can’t get enough of these macro shots ( even if they don’t open on my mobile devices lol). I love the idea of these wands and ..i luv the price tag lol . I like the skinny wands best though ( for myself)!
Hey Dee, I’d really love to know what error are you getting/seeing on your device while trying to view my blog? I want to know so I can fix it! ^_^
Yeah, for $7, it’s not too bad! They are fun to use! :)
I am so glad to hear these are washable! I normally don’t like rubber wands but I think might be worth trying!
For the price, I *will* make them washable haha. Why don’t you like rubber wands, Erin?
Hehe, these are so cute! I like the ‘mace’ ones the best – they seem like a good weapon for a beauty adventurer to have on hand, either to apply mascara before a dungeon raid, or bash in the heads af any particuarly soft-skilled Orcs that try to murder you during said dungeon raid…
“Imagination is more important than knowledge.” — I like that about you, Syl! ;D
I don’t think that I’ll indulge since they don’t seem to make a monumental difference, but this was so incredibly helpful! It would also be nice if they could sell the different types of wands separately, since after the first trial, not everyone will want all the options again. (After what you said, I’d buy just the lengthening one.)
True! I would appreciate a full box of just the Lengthening ones alone! :)
This is cool!! I would love to try and see which would work best for my lashes.
I think any one will work on your long, luscious lashes, Fiona! ;D
Very cool, Jaa! I wouldn’t toss these either! I’m so with you in that spirit. I normally prefer bristle brushes to silicone/rubber brushes but I am digging the idea of these. Great photos, too!
Thanks, Kristen! Yeah, the idea is pretty neat! They should make another set with bristle brushes, too!
