Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in F-Bomb Review & Swatches

Hello everyone! Before we begin with the review, I’d like to explain why I’ve been MIA! You may have noticed a lack of updates on HelloJaa for the past week and I’m truly sorry about that! I have recently undergone a laser treatment to remove little sun spots all over my face and I’ve been in the “recovering” phase since. The spots weren’t very obvious to begin with but with a magnifying mirror that I happen to look in every morning, they’re quite obvious to me. It has been bothering me for years so I finally decided to do something about it. It hasn’t been an easy process for sure. Frankly, I have no clue how long it’s going to take for my skin to fully recover but until then, I try not to put on any makeup unless absolutely necessary. My posts will probably continue to be sporadic for a while but I promise you that I’m still here and will try to update the blog whenever I can! :)

Now on to the review of my newly-discovered gorgeous red lipstick!

I know Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick is probably extremely old news to everyone but I’ve just discovered this little mini-sized tube when I was going through my sample box! There are 23 shades total in the line-up but I think the color I have is one of the sexiest ones! ;) It’s a classic, deep red that brightens up your complexion the moment it is on your lips! And I don’t know about you but whenever I wear a red lipstick, especially a good one like this, I instantly feel ten times sexier and more empowered (as you will see in my full-face photo below)! The shade is called F-Bomb and it looks like this:

I honestly do not know what those little white specks are on the bullet because in person you can barely see them. They are only noticeable through a macro lens! F-Bomb has extremely intense color payoff so you do get pretty much a full coverage in one easy glide. The consistency is slightly creamy without slip and the fact that it goes on slightly matte in the beginning makes the application really easy and clean. Its true finish isn’t matte, though, as seconds later, the texture will transform to a soft satin with a subtle luminous shine. As a bonus, it makes my lips appear so super smooth, too! :)

The color is buildable. The more you layer it on, the glossier and more red it becomes, as seen below:

A few more great things about the formula: it is unscented and feels super lightweight (for such intense color). It does not bleed/migrate/feather (seriously, no lip liner needed!) or emphasize lines and dry flakes. The most impressive thing is probably the wear time. I’d say F-Bomb lasts somewhere between 5-6 hours before fading ever so slightly into a soft red stain. The formula may not be super hydrating, a trade-off for longevity, but it isn’t drying in the least bit.

Here’s how F-Bomb looks on me:

I applied 2 coats on my lips directly from the tube and still managed to get a reasonably clean application! That’s how easy it is to wear F-Bomb! :) If you’re on the market for a bold, statement red that is a pleasure to wear, I highly recommend F-Bomb. However, if you want something even more matte, perhaps you can check out their latest matte lipstick line called Matte Revolution! I haven’t gotten my hands on it yet but if you have, please feel free to share your opinion! :)

Oh eeek! Laser treatment! I’m too scared to do that. I hope your skin will recover soon and the spots will be gone forever :)

Absolutely love this one on you! Very sexy red!

Thanks, Sunny! My skin is healing up nicely at the moment. Pheew! I’m not certain the spots will be gone forever, though, since it’s also genetics in my case! I can only protect my skin so much from the sun. :-/

So true! Every flaw is magnified. It’s a blessing to be able to see everything clear and up close but it’s also a curse in a way! :(

  2. Holy crap you look so glamorous! :) That is one beautiful red! I really want to check out their new matte lipsticks. I’ll have to look for some swatches later. I hope you heal up nicely and quickly.

I have a mini of this one too but don’t get enough opportunities to show it off! Should bring them out for a night out or something xD This is definitely your red!

Wow, it looks really gorgeous on you! I have this lipstick in Catfight (a crazy warm pink fuchsia) and I love the texture, it’s glides so well with perfect opacity.
I hope your skin will recover fast! I’ve been thinking of getting red spider veins on my face removed with laser for a while, but I’m a little scared (and broke too…).

    1. says: Jaa

Thank you so much! I’ll look up Catfight swatches since I love fuchsia lips! :) I was a little scared (and also broke) at first, too, but I eventually saved up and looked around for experienced doctors. I’m glad the one who did mine was very gentle and caring. I feel that I’m in good hands. I wish you best of luck if you decide to do it! :)

I wish I could get laser treatments. Does it hurt real bad? I am loving the purple eyes with the red lip. Purple and red are hard to pull off together but you made this look tres sexy.

      Thanks, Kelly! <3

I think it depends on the type of laser and the areas/spots to remove! In my case, I had about 400 spots removed from all over my face and neck so the process was quite tiring and painful. The first few days were the worst. My face and neck were red, swollen, and stinging and burning but after that it got better real quick I almost didn't feel anything at all. It's worth the trouble for me now that I see my skin free of those spots! :)

Hi Jaa, I hope your skin recovers soon. I got my spots removed as well but there’s no down time with the treatment that I got so everything was business as usual :-)
F Bomb looks great on you though. Very sexy!

    1. says: Jaa

Oh that’s nice, Lily! What kind of laser was used on you? I had to lay low because I pretty much had my whole face and neck lasered (a total of almost 400 spots). The first week was really bad because I had these dark laser scabs all over and I looked like I had some sort of infectious skin disease. LOL! My skin is starting to heal really nicely, though! It was well worth it. :D

  7. says: Meiko

Wow that is an intense and sexy look on you! I’m starting to wear reds more but still more sheer and muted, haha I’ll need to really work myself up for something like this

    1. says: Jaa

Hey, at least you’re starting! ;) Red is such a powerful color, I almost feel a different person when I wear red (like really, really red). It gives me so much confidence! :D

  8. says: Agata

Hope your skin recovers really quickly because I have been missing your posts!

F bomb looks awesome on you, you look really bad ass!! I love the formula of Revolution lipsticks!

  9. says: Ingrid

Holy smokes! That red looks killer on you!
I hope your skin recovers soon. Lasers can do amazing things for the skin, and I hope you get the result you want!

  10. says: Erin

That’s a great red! Love the liner too. Sometimes I swear we have similar makeup vibes at the same time. I just bought 2 new eyeliners so I can do that exact look like 2 weeks ago!

Gosh, what an absolutely gorgeous saturated red! Totally stunning on you :) I’m so tempted to try this range of lippies :)
