The majority of items in my everyday makeup bag is mostly essentials. :)

1. Hair comb
A must have item. For some reason my head feels so much lighter once I comb my hair! Not sure how that works but it does. :D
2. Evita Peroni hair clip
I love the design of the clip — simple but still chic and functional. So easy to use and doesn’t pinch my hair like most bobby pins do.
3. Stila Stay All Day Waterproof liquid eye liner (Buy)
Shown here is a mini size that I like to keep in my bag because you never know when you’ll need one! Stila liquid eyeliners are one of the best on the market for many reasons: they are highly pigmented (the black one shown here is really black), smudge-free, easy to draw a sharp line, and they truly stay on all day.
4. Clé de Peau Beauté concealer (Buy; Review)
The skin around my nose gets red really easily so I try to keep a good concealer with me everywhere I go. This one by Clé de Peau comes in a stick form so it’s very convenient. The formula is lightweight and provides excellent coverage.
5. Jack Black Intense Therapy lip balm in Black Cherry and Pomegranate (Buy; Review)
Lip balm is a staple makeup item for me so it’s not surprising to see one in my bag! :) I have an extensive review on it if you’re interested. I like the way it sinks into lips to moisturize as opposed to just sitting on top and feeling heavy. The non-shiny/overly glossy finish is also a plus!
6. Dior Addict lipstick in It Pink (Buy)
I keep this one in my bag in addition to whatever lipstick I’m wearing that day. I love It Pink because it’s a nice pink that is work-appropriate. The coverage is sheer but buildable. It moisturizes lips really well, too.
7. Green tea latte candy (Buy)
Low sugar = crabby Jaa. :D
8. SwirliDo hair ties (Buy)
I love these hair ties! They don’t pull hair or leave pony lines. They are fun to use, stay in place and never slide off my hair. They are much more gentle to the hair than regular hair ties and the best thing about them is they don’t give me a headache! :)
9. Gatsby blotting paper (Buy)
I don’t use blotting film a lot in Winter as my skin tends to be pretty dry. This product is a staple during Summer, though. Gatsby is a good brand for blotting film and I use the “strongest” strength type (black sheets).
10. Rohto Lycee Japanese eye drop (Buy)
Eye drop is a contact lens wearer’s best friend. I like this one in particular because it provides a slight cooling effect, too! And the pink packaging is always a nice gesture. :D
11. Almay makeup eraser sticks (Buy)
In case of emergency! I love how convenient these are. Break a tip, let the remover flow to the other end and dab away. Poof! Gone are the eyeshadow fallout and liner/mascara smudges!
12. Chanel Miroir Double Facettes (Mirror Duo) (Buy)
I love how small and thin it is. It’s a very simple (but elegant) compact that has a regular mirror on one side and a magnifying one on the other.
Well, I think that pretty much covers all the items I always have with me in my everyday makeup bag. I don’t normally bring any more than this to work unless I know I’m traveling or working out of town — then, it’s a whole other story. ;)
Now it’s your turn to share with me what’s in your makeup bag! :)
Hey Jaa, I really should start carrying candy as well. My blood sugar could drop pretty low, and that’s when I shut down :p
I actually don’t carry much makeup with me at all. I do have a pressed powder (Guerlain Les Voilettes), my go-to lipstick (Dior Spring Ball Addict Extreme), and some blotting paper. That’s about it! Sometimes I carry my Cle de Peau concealer with me as well, but that’s only when there is some serious imperfection going on and I REALLY don’t want to risk people seeing it :p
At least you shut down, I go berserk!! Ask the boyfriend!!! LOL! That poor guy, having to deal with me, haha.
I don’t carry much makeup on a day-to-day basis, either. But then if I’m going out of town, I tend to bring too much, haha.
Hi ladies,
I have Dior cream de rose lip balm, blotting paper, a nude colour lipstick, mints and a pressed powder with a minor in my bag usually. Guerlain les Voilettes and the cle de peau concealer are on my wish list. Are you happy with them?
Thanks
Grace
Hi Grace! I love Dior Crème de Rose as well but I only use it at home as I find it a little inconvenient to use on the go because it comes in a pot! I hope you get to try the Clé de Peau concealer soon – great stuff! :)
Omg Green Tea Latte Candy! น่ากินจัง! I’ve got a ZA Foundation Powder for touch-ups (and the mirror), blotting papers, Estee Lauder Maximum Cover Camouflage, Nivea SPF Lip Balm, and an assortment of lipsticks/lip glosses – whatever I’m wearing that day and usually whatever I wore the previous day(s).
Hi Jeannie! The green tea latte candy is pretty good! It’s not too sweet and it really tastes like green tea latte! :D I see from your Twitter that you are part Thai, can you speak/write/understand Thai? :D
I’ve heard good things about Estee Lauder concealer. Does it have good coverage? I need something strong for my face, lol!
นิดหน่อย, I speak and read Thai better than I write it, there’s too many letters in the alphabet so my spelling is horrendous, I sent my mother a message saying “จำใด้”, wrong ไ haha. Honestly my Estee Lauder concealer is about 3 years old (the tube is huge), I’ve looked up reviews on esteelauder.com and apparently the formula has changed :( The Make Up For Ever Full Cover Concealer is the closest thing I’ve found so far but it’s not quite as opaque, I’m still searching!
i’ve never heard of #7! I’d want to try it :)
Haha, it’s really good! If you like green tea latte. :D
Super fun post! I always love what’s in my bag posts! I cracked up at “Low sugar = crabby Jaa. :D”! I can go for really long periods of time without eating and sometimes end up forgetting to eat lunch at work! I could kick arse at Survivor. I don’t carry much in my purse makeup bag, actually. Some Kleenex, a few lipstick and balm options (shout out to Jack Black!), and a really lightweight powder compact (same one Sunny mentioned in her comment, actually)! When it comes to packing a trip bag, though….oh my lord. It;s as if I’m planning to move. I agonize over my selections like I’m never coming back!
“I agonize over my selections like I’m never coming back!” Hahahahahaha SAME HERE, Kristen!!! It’s ridiculous how much I pack even for just a one-day trip!!!!
Guess I will have to check out the Guerlain pressed powder since two of my favorite bloggers use it! :D
I can relate!! You should’ve seen what insanity it was when I was packing my makeup bag for my bachelorette party. It was 1 NIGHT. 1. Yet I had enough stuff with me to move to Canada for 3 months! I always feel like I don’t want to bring too little and have no options! 1 thing I failed at was lipstick. I didn’t bring one because going to Sephora was on the docket and I wanted to get a new one. I didn’t factor in that 2 people coming in from out of state would get stuck in hellacious, zombie apocalypse-style traffic and not arrive until after 6 pm! So we skipped Sephora and I had to bum a lipstick from a friend! I knew I should have packed *MOAR*, LOL!
Oh and the pressed meteorites are pretty awesome. I’m not saying you’ll be shine-free for eons, because it does have a semi-radiant finish, but the compact is perfection. It’s tiny, could fit in a pocket if necessary, and weighs almost nothing. Kinda awesome for purse carrying! I can’t say I’d use it to set my makeup in the morning; I need something heavier duty than that. But for portable touch ups, it’s fantastic! I’d love to know your thoughts if you pick it up!
LOL! So you had everything and more than you needed but A LIPSTICK!!! Hahahaha… I’ve sooo been there, too! Makes me mad when that happens!
Hmm.. I don’t do touch ups too much so I guess I’m in no hurry to get the powder, then! :D Thanks for the mini review as always, Kristen!
Hooray for green tea candies! :-) Also. I hear so many people love the Jack Black lip balms – I must see if I can try and get a hold of one down here at the Ends of the Earth some time :-D I like to consider myself a lip balm conoisseur, after all…
Jack Black lip balms are really good, Sylirael! I’ve never met anyone who doesn’t like it, even my boyfriend loves it! Non-sticky, hydrating, and very affordable but what I love most is the non-shiny finish. They also come in so many yummy scents! :D
I’m the exception to the rule on Jack Black. I didn’t think it was that great compared to other things I have.
I don’t like candy but not gonna lie, those green tea ones sound SO good. Also, i’m pretty sure i clicked on 96% of your items here. You always have such great picks! xx
Thank, Sam! :D
